About

Tina Tynys is an elegant violinist and violin teacher based in Helsinki area and Eastern Finland. She enjoys playing in various groups and orchestras. She always gives 100 percent in all situations she attends. Tina plays everything from classical to pop and jazz. She likes to challenge herself and always tries new things with the violin. Nowadays she is interested to improvise more and also combine violin and computer.

As a teacher Tina is a really kind, inspiring and encouraging.
"It is important to me that learning is done in a relaxed, permissive, safe and open atmosphere. My lessons are student-oriented, so that student's interests are taken into account. Therefore it's important to give opportunity for a student to choose songs, without sacrificing style or violin technique."

Tina was born in 1995 in Imatra, Finland. She learned to enjoy music in many ways at young age - thanks to her musical family. She was extremely envious when her big brother started to play the trumpet. She also wanted to take up some noisy instrument. Her parents signed her up at Imatra Music institute where she started to play the violin at the age of four. Later she also wanted to try different instruments, so she started to play clarinet and piano in addition to the violin. At the age of 16, she moved to Lahti and started to pursue a dual degree at the Tiirismaa Upper Secondary School for Music and Lahti Conservatory for Music. She graduated in spring 2015. After studies in Lahti she started to study towards Bachelor of Music Pedagogy at the Metropolia University of Applied Sciences and graduated in spring 2019. Later on she has also studied music education and graduated from University of Jyväskylä with the title Master of Philosophy.

Tina is currently freelancing and also teaching violin at Lappeenrannan musiikkiopisto. Teaching is very rewarding for her, but performing is also a great passion that she loves to do.
